Crew card links

Ask a crew member for their cards with a link they open on their phone, then approve each card before it goes on the board.

Ask one person

  1. Open their file. Under Cards from and their name, find Request cards.
  2. Press Request cards. The link is made.
  3. Copy it and text it to them, or press Email it to them.

The link works for 14 days. Making a new one stops the old one. Copy it when it is made: Currity keeps only a fingerprint of it, so that is the one time it can be shown.

Ask several people at once

  1. From the board, open Request cards from the crew.
  2. Tick the people, or press Everyone missing something.
  3. Press the button that makes the links. It counts them, as in Make 6 links.
  4. Copy each link, or press the email button to send them all, as in Email all 6 with an address.

Adding someone new? Tick Send them a card request now under Add someone to the crew. The importer has the same choice for everyone it adds.

What the crew member sees

They open the link on their phone. There is no login and no app.

  1. Take a photo of the card, with Take a photo or Choose a file.
  2. Check the details read off it: issue date, expiry date, card number and who issued it. Anything the reader was unsure of is marked Check this.
  3. Press Send this card. It goes to you to check before it goes on file.

The page switches between English | Español at the top. It opens in the language set on their file, under Crew language. The email that carries the link is written in that language too.

See what the crew sees

The card reader

The card reader fills in the details from the photo. It saves nothing on its own. If it cannot read a photo, the crew member types the details from the card instead. Cards printed in Spanish are read the same way.

Review and approve

  1. From the board, open Cards to review. The number beside it is how many are waiting.
  2. Look at the scan and the details. Correct anything in the To record column.
  3. Tick I have seen this card myself if you have. It marks the card verified today.
  4. Press Approve and put it on file. The card goes on the board with its scan attached.

Something wrong? Open Send it back instead, write why in words they will read, and press Send it back. They see your reason on their link and can send a new photo.

Scan a card yourself

Have the card in front of you? On the person's file, press Scan a card, take the photo, check the details and press Save to the file. There is no review step for a card you scan yourself.

Crew reminders

On Settings, tick Email crew members about their own cards and press Save. Each person with an email on file then gets a reminder 60 and 30 days before their own card expires and on the day, each with a new link to send a photo of the new card. You still approve every card. It is off to start with.

To leave one person out, open their file and untick the reminders box under Cards from and their name.

Good to know

  • Photos can be PDF, JPEG, PNG or HEIC, up to 10 MB. When a photo cannot be read automatically, the crew member types the details in.
  • Anyone holding a link can send cards for that person until it runs out. Nothing reaches the board until someone in your office approves it.
  • Foremen can ask for cards and approve them for the people at their own sites.
  • A photo that was never sent is deleted after the link runs out. A card sent back has its photo deleted.

Something here does not match what you see in the app? That is a mistake on our side. Tell us.

Try it on your own crew.

Currity keeps every card date for your crew and warns you at 90, 60 and 30 days, so a lapsed card turns up on the board before it turns up on site.
