What the rule asks

OSHA 10 for construction workers, OSHA 30 for supervisors. Every construction worker needs an OSHA 10 construction industry completion card. Supervisory employees need an OSHA 30 construction card instead. The card is the federal Department of Labor outreach card, from a course taught by an OSHA authorized trainer who is registered with the Nevada Division of Industrial Relations.

Renewal: None. Construction cards do not expire and do not need renewal in Nevada. The five year expiry was removed from the construction statute by SB 233 in 2015, and the regulation followed in 2016 by dropping the word unexpired from the definition of a valid card. The Division says a card is valid regardless of its issue date. The five year expiry still in NRS 618 applies to the entertainment industry and to convention services, not to construction.

• OSHA 10-Hour Construction. Who needs it: Every construction worker who is not a supervisor. How long it lasts: No expiry set by this rule. See the renewal note.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction. Who needs it: Supervisory employees, meaning those who hire, fire, direct or discipline others as a significant part of their day. How long it lasts: No expiry set by this rule. See the renewal note.

Set it up in Currity

1. 01Open State rules in the menu, tick Nevada under Where do you work? and press Save and show guides.
2. 02Open Add to roles… and, for OSHA 10-Hour Construction and OSHA 30-Hour Construction, tick the roles the guide's "Who needs it" line describes, or type them.
3. 03Press Preview what will be added, check it, and confirm with the add button.
4. 04On each person's file, record the card with its Issue date.

Currity already comes with OSHA 10-Hour Construction and OSHA 30-Hour Construction as credential types that do not expire, so the guide uses those. A card recorded with no expiry date shows No expiry on the board. A required card with no record shows Not on file, and that person is not cleared.

Spanish for your crew

Each crew member can read their card link and their card emails in English or Spanish. On their file, under Crew language, choose English or Español. Everything the office sees stays in English. An import can set it too, from a Language column.
