OSHA 10 for construction workers, OSHA 30 for supervisors
Every construction worker needs an OSHA 10 completion card from a course approved by the Nevada OSHA office. Supervisory employees need an OSHA 30 card instead.

- Who needs it
- Supervisory employees, meaning those who hire, fire, direct or discipline others as a significant part of their day.

- Who it covers
- Construction workers on any construction site in Nevada, public or private, with no dollar threshold. A supervisory employee is someone who hires, fires, directs or disciplines other workers using independent judgment as a significant part of the workday. The Nevada Department of Transportation, and upkeep of property that already has a certificate of occupancy, are excluded.
- Deadline
- Within 15 days of being hired. After that the employer must suspend or dismiss anyone who has not shown a current and valid card.
- Renewal
- The construction sections of the statute set no expiry or renewal for the card. The five year expiry in the same chapter applies to the entertainment industry and convention services, not to construction.
- Read closely
- The statute asks for a current and valid card but does not say when a card stops being current. We checked the statute, not the Nevada Administrative Code, so ask Nevada OSHA if you need a firm answer on older cards.
