Getting started

Set up your company, load your crew and say what each role must hold, so the board can tell you who is cleared to work.

Start the trial

  1. Go to Start a trial and make your login. No card is needed for the 14 day trial.
  2. On Set up your company, type your Company name. It heads the compliance report, and you can change it later.
  3. Check the Time zone. Currity starts with your device's zone. Warnings go out at 07:00 in this zone.
  4. Press Create company. You land on the board.

Joining a colleague who already uses Currity? Open the invite link they sent you instead. Creating a company here starts a separate account.

Load your crew

Two ways. Bring in the spreadsheet you keep today from Import in the menu (see Importing your spreadsheet). Or add people one at a time on the board, under Add someone to the crew.

  1. Under Add someone to the crew, type the Name. Role, site, email and employee ID are optional.
  2. Give them a Role. The role decides which cards the board checks them against.
  3. Press Add.

Type each role the same way every time. The board matches a role exactly as written, so Welder and welder are two different roles.

Say what each role must hold

This is the step that lets Currity find a card nobody ever collected. On the board, under Require a credential of a role, type the role, choose the credential and press Require.

Currity comes with a list of common credential types, such as OSHA 10-Hour Construction, Fall Protection and Respirator Fit Test. If yours is not there, choose Other: add your own… at the bottom of the list and say how many months it lasts. More in Roles and requirements.

Record a card

  1. Click a name on the board to open their file.
  2. Under Required credentials, enter the Issue date. Leave the expiry blank and Currity works it out from how long that credential lasts.
  3. Fill in the Expiry date only when the card says something different.
  4. Press Save.

Your crew can also send photos of their own cards from their phone. See Crew card links.

What the board shows

  • One row for each person, with a cell for each card their role must hold.
  • Each cell carries a status word: Not on file, Expired, Due within 30 days, Due within 60 days, Due within 90 days, Valid or No expiry.
  • Anyone with a required card Not on file or Expired is not cleared. The headline says how many cannot go on a jobsite today.
  • The filters at the top narrow it to Everyone, Not cleared, Expiring soon or Nothing due, and by name, site, role or project.
  • Coming due in the menu lists everything expired, missing or inside 90 days, worst first.

Good to know

  • An empty board is not an all clear. With no crew, or no card required of any role, the board says so.
  • You can change the time zone later on Settings. It moves future warnings. It does not send again the ones already sent, and it changes no expiry date.
  • Currity tracks the dates you give it. It does not check that a card is genuine. The compliance report says so.
  • During the trial, Settings shows how many days are left under Billing. See Billing, the trial and cancelling.

Something here does not match what you see in the app? That is a mistake on our side. Tell us.

Try it on your own crew.

Currity keeps every card date for your crew and warns you at 90, 60 and 30 days, so a lapsed card turns up on the board before it turns up on site.
